Dan May Island is a 72 acre private island paradise accessible only by boat or seaplane. Located in northern Levy County, on the western coast of north central Florida. The Dixie County town of Suwannee, six miles north of Dan May Island, is the closest town from which to launch a boat for the trip out the historic Suwannee River.

Incredible flora, manatees, alligators, turtles, osprey, heron, wild hogs, and an occasional parrot during the winter months are a few of the sights to enjoy. Dan May Island is so protected, it's also been home to the Florida Panther and Florida Black Bear.

The existing lodge, approached from Dan May Creek, is high and dry and hurricane tested for over 100 years. The turn of the century, natural cypress lodge is 1700 plus sq ft with one large main room, kitchen, three bedrooms, and two full baths.

Dan May Creek and the Suwannee River is known for superb fishing or from Dan May's front door. Boat out 300 yards for ocean fishing in the Gulf of Mexico where the red fish practically jump into your boat!

Florida has many islands, but the number that offer Dan May's privacy, considerable size and its own fresh water supply, is rare. Seventy-two acres, a home site made of cypress heart, still high and dry after 100 years, and unmatched fishing, provided by both the Suwannee River and the Gulf of Mexico, make this a great island find indeed.
